No idea who lived in this house before some friends moved in, but in my opinion, getting rid of the paintwork on the door would probably be a priority; the door leads to a baby-blue box room.

Sometimes cool stuff comes up in the world of sound art and installation, most projects I have been involved in have been with Katy Acquaye-Tonge, this one I done on me oun, cy-tin. I think I am dumbing down because I’m afraid of the arts.

‘There Are No Others, There Is Only Us’

‘There are no others, there is only us’ is a powerful visual metaphor illustrating the nature of collaboration and the power of crowds, with music composed by post minimalist producer Ben Frost (Bjork, Valgeir Sigurosson).

The centerpiece of the film is an aerial dance of half a million swarming birds, projected at Birmingham Moor Street Station, where 7,000 commuters come and go daily. 

In addition to Ben Frosts soundtrack 5 artists have been invited by Supersonic Festival to compose alternative scores to accompany the film. These include sound pieces created by:
Andrew Moscardo-Parker, Stuart Tonge (Papa November), Simon Fox, Matt Snowden, Sam Underwood

I produced a drawing from a picture taken with my phone, the results were like the picture on the left, I felt the face looked a bit long, so I photographed it at an angle and from the top, this shortened the face and added some weight to the top of the head. It doesnt look that much like me though.

Now in photoshop I increased the contrast and filled with some colour in order to complete the Papa November portrait, always aiming for minimal manipulation once in photoshop, I don’t want to loose that drawn quality with random lines and faint erased mistakes.

One exit from the train station led to the town centre, the other exit up a road with lots of character and plenty of unusual shops. Seven hours of killing time and train journeys was to much though. Oh for a car…

Scandinavia Restaurant & Cafe in Luton

I was really curious to see what a Scandinavian menu might look like. Chips and eggs, sausage and eggs etc. Is that really a Scandinavian menu?

Continuing the scan and fill tradition, here is a drawing I produced in 1998 for a graphic novel I was working on with a friend, the story fell apart as distance and time became issues. I kept a folio full of line drawings. This one showing the hero of the story sharing a rollie with a friend.

This man committed a crime and was imprisoned in Russia, were he became saintly. Drawn in pencil at the sister in laws, scanned and filled at home.
